AMEN…LET’S MOVE ON

The Sister Girl Series
AMEN!

AMEN!
AMEN! I’m moving into my destiny
AMEN! No more Waiting to Exhale parties for me
AMEN! I’ve lost a few friends along the way
AMEN! Were they really my friends if they didn’t want to stay?
AMEN! My dreams and visions are coming to pass
AMEN! Peace in the Lord, alas.
AMEN!

Remember, sisters, we can’t sit back saying “I’ve got to pray about it.” After prayer, you need to acknowledge God’s command by taking action, again, leaning not to your own understanding, trusting God to direct your paths to destiny. Sometimes we sit back, sisters, and wait on God like He’s a magician to just magically make the oil appear in our lamps. If He has given you dreams of starting a business, the oil won’t magically appear in your lamp. If He has given you dreams of starting a CD project, the oil won’t magically appear in your lamp. If He has told you He is preparing you to be a wife, the oil won’t magically appear in your lamp. If He has promised you that you will birth children when the doctors have said no, the oil won’t magically appear in your lamp. If He has promised you that He will heal your marriage, the oil won’t magically appear in your lamp. Single sisters, check your oil! If your finances are in disarray, work to become a better steward. If your credit rating has taken a plunge, work to restore it. If your children are undisciplined, work with them to bring order to your house. If you’re still giving your body to several brothers, become celibate.

SISTER GIRL…” DECLARATION
Store the oil for your lamp of dreams, visions and promises, so that when destiny comes you are ready.

NOW, LET’S SAY THIS TOGETHER:   And the Sisters said, “Amen!”

For the past three years, I have attended the RT BOOKLOVERS Convention. This year it’s in Pittsburgh. I would encourage readers, aspiring writers, and authors to attend.
Why? Food, parties, and authors. This year New York Times Bestselling author Eric Jerome Dickey will be the guest speaker at this year’s luncheon.
The BOOKLOVERS Convention will feature more than 300 authors who will sign copies of their books on Saturday, April 19th.
The Mr. Romance Competition is a hoot!! Meet St. Louisan Fred Williams who was one of the contestants who was one of the finalist for the 2007 BOOKLOVERS Convention in Houston.
Don’t forget the chance to meet with publishers, agents, and editors.

Iraq

VERY INTERESTING-This was emailed to me and I did look up several declarations. Check it out.

1. The Garden of Eden was in Iraq
2. Mesopotamia, which is now Iraq, was the cradle of civilization!
3. Noah built the ark in Iraq.
4. The Tower of Babel was in Iraq
5. Abraham was from Ur, which is in Southern Iraq!
6. Isaac’s wife Rebekah is from Nahor, which is in Iraq!
7. Jacob met Rachel in Iraq
8. Jonah preached in Nineveh - which is in Iraq.
9. Assyria, which is in Iraq, conquered the ten tribes of Israel.
10. Amos cried out in Iraq!
11. Babylon, which is in Iraq, destroyed Jerusalem.
12. Daniel was in the lion’s den in Iraq!
13. Belshazzar, the King of Babylon saw the “writing on the wall” in Iraq.
14. Nebuchadnezzar, King of Babylon, carried the Jews captive into Iraq.
15. Ezekiel preached in Iraq
16. The wise men were from Iraq
17. Peter preached in Iraq
18. The “Empire of Man” described in Revelation is called Babylon, which was a city in Iraq!
And you have probably seen this one. Israel is the nation most often mentioned in the Bible. But do you know which nation is second? It is Iraq! However, that is not the name that is used in the Bible. The names used in the Bible are Babylon, Land of Shinar, and Mesopotamia The word Mesopotamia means between the two rivers, more exactly between the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers. The name Iraq means country with deep roots. Indeed Iraq is a country with deep roots and is a very significant country in the Bible.

No other nation, except Israel, has more history and prophecy associated it than Iraq.
And also, this is something to think about! Since America is typically represented by an eagle. Saddam should have read up on his Muslim passages… The following verse is from the Koran, (the Islamic Bible)

Koran (9:11) - For it is written that a son of Arabia would awaken a fearsome Eagle. The wrath of the Eagle would be felt throughout the lands of Allah and lo, while some of the people trembled in despair still more rejoiced; for the wrath of the Eagle cleansed the lands of Allah; and there was peace.

Author Keshia Dawn

Congrats to Fellow author Keisha Dawn

WHY THE SUBJECT MATTER.

My novel revolves around  HIV/AIDS, but not in the traditional sense that we usually see.  (Two people engaging in sex and the other becoming infected).  I wanted to explore that there are more ways than just intercourse that people are contracting this disease.  And of course there is a great twist to every good story.
WAS IT EASY TO WRITE?
By the Grace of God was an easy write for me, due to the story being placed right into my hands.  I didn’t know much about the depth of the disease when I first started writing in 2002, but once God placed the storyline in my heart, I researched and fell into the rhythm of what he wanted from me. I finished the story in detail in 3 months.
At the time I didn’t know there was a genre for Christian fiction, but after just going with my feeling on how my writing should be displayed, I didn’t give up and later self-published under Christian fiction.  From that point, I never looked back.  Which lead me to Urban Christian, which will re-release BTGOG, July 2008!
WHAT DO YOU WANT THE READERS TO TAKE AWAY?
I would love for readers to once again take in the seriousness of the disease.  It seems as though people have become relaxed in knowing or thinking that they could some way, some how become immune to this problem.  Which is our problem.  No matter which way HIV/AIDS is attracted, it’s going to take a village to stop the growth.

Alfred P. Murrah-OKC bombing

While attending an author event in Oklahoma City this past weekend, my husband and I had a chance to do a little sightseeing. After all, when you visit St. Louis, you ride up to the top of the Arch.
When you visit St. Paul-Minneapolis, you shop at the nation’s largest mall.
When you visit Florida, you go see Mickey Mouse and Minnie—you get the idea.
When you go to Oklahoma City ….well, you pay your respects to the 168 victims who died in an act of terrorism in 1995.
Throughout the month of February, I’ll post my thoughts. I hope you’ll read them and share your comments.
Please check out my Oklahoma pictures at photos.patsimmons.net
