Urban Christian author Michelle Taylor

It is a common saying, however for me the message I am trying to relay is simply, hold on until your change come. You will have to go through the bumps and bruises of life in order to understand what God is saying that you may grow into the blessing he has in store for you.

I don’t believe the trial is a purging process as much as it is a grooming process to receive your blessing.
This book took me about a year and a half to write, even though it was in me for years. I had to wait until God became the penmanship for the manuscript.
The character I feel most connected to is Summer, because she is more closely to my age in the book. She is married to my twin brother in the book and she is the bridge that brings my twin brother and I closer in the book. Her gentle spirit and her love and concern for everyone makes it easy for the connection to be drawn between the other ladies, Summer, Imani and Mia, the main character in the book.

Something usual about myself, I love being alone most of the time. Where people need girlfriends, or someone around them all the time I usually prefer my time alone to do whatever. I can eat alone at a restaurant, look at a movie, or do anything alone. I find that spending time doing things alone is usually when I appreciate the gift of life the most from God because I am really not alone then, I am sharing life and the presence of God just between us.

Well that would be all, except I would like to add that writing this book was not about fame or fortune, but it was about helping someone along the way to know God is love and in doing so, I trust the word that seek first the kingdom of God and all other things will be added unto thee. I need a blessing and I thank you for giving me this opportunity to get this book out there. Be Blessed.

Author Arlether Wilson Interview

The Synopsis…
Rewriting the Script is a soul stirring and motivational story of a girl abandoned and abused in the foster care system. After being placed back into a community plagued by crime, drugs, violence, and prostitution, she decided to choose a different path. Life was difficult. However, she was determined not just to survive, but to change the course of her family’s history. Rewriting the Script is a heartwarming story of desperation, grief and triumph. This courageous girl’s story confirms that it is possible for anyone to Rewrite Their Life’s Script.

2. Was it easy to repeat the cycle of teen pregnancy?

I guess it was easier than I thought.  I was really naive about that area.  I got pregnant after my first time and I didn’t even know it. I had so many plans and for a moment I thought I had to give it all up.  In the end, I realized that my son was a blessing.  I thank God for my children everyday.

3. What do you want readers to take away?

No matter where you come from or what you go through you can get passed it.  However, none of it is possible without faith, persistence and belief in oneself.

4. Your life is really a book. Why are you opening it up for the world to read?

I have been a police officer for over 15 years so I’m rarely shocked.  However, working with abused women and children for so long I realized that many of them are afraid to ask for help.  Or, they think that they are the only one whose walked in those shoes.  I want the world to know that sometimes our struggles only make us stronger.  More importantly, we all have a purpose and sharing my experiences may just help someone feel free to do the same.   That alone makes it all worth while.

5. Please mention the moment you felt the greatest victory
.

Honestly, I felt my greatest victory when I was able to rear my children in a more positive environment…..I finally created a generational gap. Both of my children are healthy, high school graduates and in college.  Plus they truly understand and appreciate why I do what I do….that’s the icing on the cake.

6. Feel free to add anything else that I didn’t mention.

I love to hear from my readers. Please feel free to visit my website at www.rewritethescript.com or send me an email at arlether@rewritethescript.com.

My book is available at all online bookstores and wherever books are sold.

Author Keshia Dawn

Congrats to Fellow author Keisha Dawn

WHY THE SUBJECT MATTER.

My novel revolves around  HIV/AIDS, but not in the traditional sense that we usually see.  (Two people engaging in sex and the other becoming infected).  I wanted to explore that there are more ways than just intercourse that people are contracting this disease.  And of course there is a great twist to every good story.
WAS IT EASY TO WRITE?
By the Grace of God was an easy write for me, due to the story being placed right into my hands.  I didn’t know much about the depth of the disease when I first started writing in 2002, but once God placed the storyline in my heart, I researched and fell into the rhythm of what he wanted from me. I finished the story in detail in 3 months.
At the time I didn’t know there was a genre for Christian fiction, but after just going with my feeling on how my writing should be displayed, I didn’t give up and later self-published under Christian fiction.  From that point, I never looked back.  Which lead me to Urban Christian, which will re-release BTGOG, July 2008!
WHAT DO YOU WANT THE READERS TO TAKE AWAY?
I would love for readers to once again take in the seriousness of the disease.  It seems as though people have become relaxed in knowing or thinking that they could some way, some how become immune to this problem.  Which is our problem.  No matter which way HIV/AIDS is attracted, it’s going to take a village to stop the growth.
